US–China $30 Billion Tariff Deal, Explained

China and the United States have taken the first concrete step toward a $30 billion tariff-cut package, releasing product lists on both sides.
Chinese authorities published detailed product lists for the reciprocal tariff cuts, along with implementation rules from the tariff commission, trade outlet MLex reported. The United States released its own product list for the deal, according to a TTNews report.
The package follows the Xi–Trump summit, where the two leaders agreed in principle to lower duties on about $30 billion worth of goods, Bloomberg reporting carried by The Hindu BusinessLine said.
The cuts are reciprocal: each side lowers tariffs on selected products from the other. Businesses have waited months for clarity on which goods qualify.
The announcements move the process from threats to implementation. Tariff fights between Washington and Beijing have raised costs for manufacturers and shoppers in both countries.
It is not yet clear when the cuts take effect. Companies will study the fine print of the product lists before changing prices or orders.
