Ind vs Pak Asian Games final: what to know
India and Pakistan meet in the Asian Games men’s cricket gold medal match on Saturday, October 3. Here is what to know.
The final starts at 10:00 AM IST at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan. It is a T20 format match.
India reached the final by beating Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semifinal. Ishan Kishan made 80 not out and Sri Lanka were bowled out for 45. Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-hit 13-over semifinal.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka play the bronze medal match before the final.
If rain washes out the gold match, India and Pakistan would share the gold medal, according to reported tournament rules.
The traditional handshakes are unlikely. India have refused handshakes with Pakistani players since the 2025 Pahalgam attack. ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi will also stay away from the final.
The match is expected to draw a large global television audience. Cricket returned to the Asian Games programme at Hangzhou after a long absence.
