How Drishyam grew from Rs 67 crore to Rs 480 crore

The Drishyam franchise has transformed from a modest thriller into one of Hindi cinema’s biggest brands. Here is how it happened.
The first Drishyam (2015) opened at just Rs 5.80 crore and finished with Rs 67.13 crore — a sleeper hit built on word of mouth. Drishyam 2 opened bigger at Rs 15.38 crore and went on to collect Rs 240.54 crore.
The Conclusion changed everything. It opened at Rs 62.03 crore — Ajay Devgn’s biggest opening — and added Rs 174 crore in its first weekend, taking the franchise past Rs 480 crore in combined India collections.
The franchise now sits around No. 12 on the all-time Hindi franchise chart. It needs about Rs 27.6 crore more to pass Singham (Rs 509.27 crore) and enter the top 10.
Few franchises have grown this fast — from No. 21 to the doorstep of the top 10 in a single weekend.
