Apple marks 15 years since Steve Jobs’ death

Today marks 15 years since Apple co-founder Steve Jobs died. He passed away on October 5, 2011, at the age of 56, after complications from pancreatic cancer.
His death came the day after Apple unveiled the iPhone 4s at the company’s Infinite Loop campus. In the days that followed, Apple created a Remembering Steve page where fans could share memories.
More than one million messages have been collected on the page, which remains live today. Apple marked the first anniversary with a photo and audio slideshow on its website.
Throughout his tenure, former CEO Tim Cook traditionally shared words of remembrance on social media and with Apple staff on this day. This year, tributes may come from the new chief executive, John Ternus.
Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak. He led the company through the launches of the Macintosh, iPod, iPhone and iPad, reshaping personal computing, music and mobile phones. His focus on design and simplicity remains central to Apple’s identity.
