Samsung to Launch Stablecoin Wallet in the US

Samsung will launch a stablecoin wallet in the United States in the last week of October, the company announced on October 7. It will reach 82 million Galaxy device users.
The wallet uses USDC on the Solana blockchain. Custody is provided by Coinbase through its Prime Vault service, adding an institutional layer of security.
Users will be able to make cross-border transfers and receive bank payouts in more than 60 countries. There is no separate crypto app to install; the wallet lives inside Samsung Wallet with biometric authentication.
Woncheol Chai, vice president of Wallet at Samsung Electronics America, said the goal is to make digital dollars as easy to use as cash.
The launch marks one of the biggest mainstream pushes for stablecoins yet. Putting USDC on 82 million phones could bring crypto payments to ordinary users at an unprecedented scale.
Regulators in the US have warmed to stablecoins this year, giving big companies cover to enter the space. Samsung’s move could pressure Apple and Google to respond.
