Microsoft Prices Nvidia-Powered Surface Laptop Ultra at $2,599
Microsoft has opened pre-orders for the Surface Laptop Ultra and Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, its first machines built on Nvidia's RTX Spark chip.
The 15-inch Surface Laptop Ultra starts at $2,599 and ships October 16, while the Dev Box desktop starts at $5,999 and ships in November, Microsoft said.
Both are pitched at running AI models locally, with the laptop able to run models of more than 120 billion parameters on the device.
Microsoft also revealed a revamped Windows 11 with a feature called Execution Containers, which makes it easier to sandbox AI agents.
CEO Satya Nadella said the Execution Containers feature would be available for all Windows 11 users.
The launch follows Nvidia's June announcement that it had secured agreements with Microsoft and other PC makers for AI-ready Windows PCs. Microsoft is offering up to $1,000 cash back on MacBook Pro trade-ins.
