General Intuition raises $220M at $6.2B to train AI on game data

General Intuition has raised $220 million at a $6.2 billion valuation to build AI models trained on billions of action-labelled gameplay videos, the company announced on September 29. The round was led by Valor Equity Partners, with Atreides, Seven Seven Six, Point72, Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst participating.
The New York startup, co-founded by Medal co-founder Pim de Witte, spun out of the gaming video platform Medal in 2025. Its thesis is that gameplay footage — where every move shows an action changing an environment — is richer training material for robots and autonomous systems than text or static images. Medal is on track to host about 3 billion uploaded videos a year, giving General Intuition access to an enormous stream of human action data.
The new valuation is nearly triple the $2.3 billion set in June, when the company raised $320 million. Total capital raised now exceeds $650 million. General Intuition says it is only now opening its “action models” to outside partners and is testing the technology with a limited group of customers in robotics, simulation and entertainment. The company plans to expand its teams in New York and Europe as it scales training and compute.
