Cohere launches North 2 enterprise agent platform

Cohere has launched North 2, the biggest upgrade yet to its North enterprise agentic AI platform. Announced on October 5, it adds cross-session agent memory, a redesigned orchestration harness and granular cost controls across cloud, on-premises and air-gapped deployments. Skills act as reusable capabilities agents can call, so logic is not rewritten for every employee. Libraries hold shared knowledge and assets the organisation can draw on. Memory lets an agent keep context across sessions instead of starting cold. Users can prototype decks, dashboards and lightweight apps from natural language inside chat. North Admin adds quotas, rate limits and organisation-wide spending caps. Cohere says a year of production deployments across finance, healthcare, telecom, manufacturing, energy and the public sector shaped the release. The platform is model-agnostic, so clients can swap in other companies' models. One user, Bell Cyber, partnered with Cohere to bring government-grade security to agentic AI use. The launch targets regulated industries that want agents on infrastructure they control.
