Anthropic puts Claude inside Google Workspace in public beta

Anthropic has launched Claude for Google Workspace in public beta. The integration brings Claude into Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.
The add-on places Claude in a sidebar next to an open file. Users can read, select and edit content without switching apps.
In Docs, Claude can fix sentences and rewrite sections while keeping formatting. In Sheets, it can write formulas, build pivot tables and create charts. In Slides, it can build slides using the presentation’s own layouts.
Users choose how much control Claude has. In ‘ask before edits’ mode, each change appears as an approval card. Users can also let Claude apply changes automatically.
The beta is available to all paid Claude plans through the Google Workspace Marketplace. Separate connectors let users create and edit Google files directly from Claude’s chat.
Enterprise controls like the Compliance API and customer-managed encryption keys carry over to the add-on.
