Indore: AI tutoring startup Arivihan has raised $10.2 million in a Series A round co-led by Accel and Prosus Ventures, the company announced on September 30. The round takes its total funding to about $14.4 million, including a $4.17-million raise earlier.

Arivihan's AI tutor serves school students, with about 80 per cent of its subscribers in tier-III cities and rural areas. The startup says its product delivers personalised, vernacular-first learning at a fraction of the cost of human tutoring.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its subject coverage, strengthen its AI models and grow its user base in smaller towns. India's test-prep and tutoring market has seen renewed investor interest as AI-native products gain traction.

Founders said the round was oversubscribed. The startup is positioning itself as an affordable alternative for students who lack access to quality coaching institutes.

The startup's vernacular-first approach sets it apart in a market long dominated by English-language products. Arivihan said demand from smaller towns has grown steadily as affordable smartphones and data reach deeper into rural India.
