Amazon Bedrock has expanded the availability of Anthropic’s Claude models to India, with cross-region inference now supported across Mumbai and Hyderabad, AWS announced.

The move lets Indian developers run Claude models from within the country, meeting data-residency needs while handling demand spikes. AWS said the expansion supports growing enterprise AI use across the region.

AWS also introduced in-region inference for Anthropic models in Seoul and Singapore, giving customers in those markets local deployment options, the company said in a separate announcement.

The expansion comes as competition heats up among cloud providers to offer the latest frontier models closer to users, cutting latency and addressing compliance requirements. Bedrock is Amazon’s managed service for building applications on foundation models. Claude models are among the most widely used enterprise AI models on the platform.
