India women win 4x400m relay gold at Asian Games
India’s women’s 4x400m relay team won gold at the Asian Games in Nagoya on September 29, adding another track triumph to the country’s medal haul.
The quartet held off strong challenges through the final leg to seal the top spot, according to Khel Now and ANI. The win continues India’s strong tradition in the women’s relay event.
Teammate Prachi Choudhary praised Vithya Ramraj after the race, calling the win “really special”. Ramraj had also broken PT Usha’s 42-year-old national record in the 400m hurdles a day earlier.
The relay gold caps a golden day for Indian athletics at the Games. The squad’s smooth baton exchanges proved decisive in a tight final. Fans back home celebrated the double triumph warmly on social media.
The Asian Games 2026 run from September 19 to October 4 in Nagoya, Japan. India’s athletics contingent will look to add more medals as the track events continue.
