Walsh stunner seals Chelsea’s 3-0 win at West Ham

Chelsea moved to the top of the Women’s Super League with a 3-0 win away at West Ham on October 4, 2026. Keira Walsh scored a stunning second goal to seal a fourth straight league victory.
The visitors dominated but waited until the 38th minute for the breakthrough, when summer signing Melvine Malard found the bottom corner. West Ham frustrated Sonia Bompastor’s side after the interval and failed to register a single shot.
Walsh finally settled the contest in the 80th minute, firing home from the edge of the penalty area. It was the England midfielder’s third goal of the season. Maika Hamano then headed in from close range on her first start of the campaign to complete the scoring.
Chelsea sit top of the table, though they have played a game more than champions Manchester City. West Ham remain without a win after four defeats. Walsh was influential throughout, creating three chances and attempting five shots.
