Tim Ream to retire from US team after 102 caps
United States defender Tim Ream will retire from international football after the November camp, ending a 16-year career with the national team.
The 38-year-old Charlotte FC captain will play his final match on November 18 against Uruguay at Raymond James Stadium. He debuted for the US on November 17, 2010 against South Africa and went on to win 102 caps.
Ream played at three World Cups in 2014, 2022 and 2026, becoming one of the most trusted defenders in American history. He will continue his club career with Charlotte FC.
His longevity at the top level, including a long spell in England with Fulham, made him a role model for younger players. The November farewell gives American fans a chance to honour one of the national team’s most dependable servants.
He made his debut in November 2010, meaning his national team career lasted almost exactly 16 years. The farewell against Uruguay will be his 103rd cap if he plays.
