Bishop’s Three Touchdowns Power Tennessee Past Auburn 24-14

Tennessee earned its first SEC win of the season with a 24-14 victory over Auburn at Neyland Stadium on Saturday. Running back DeSean Bishop carried the offense with three rushing touchdowns.
Bishop finished with 220 rushing yards. His third score sealed a win that was anything but easy for the No. 17 Vols, who moved to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the SEC.
Freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon was benched late in the second quarter after throwing an interception deep in his own territory. He left the game with zero passing yards. Sophomore George MacIntyre replaced him and went 8-of-10 for 86 yards.
Auburn fell to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the SEC. The Tigers had no answer for Tennessee’s defense, which forced three turnovers with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Tennessee coach Josh Heupel got the better of Auburn coach Alex Golesh, who served as his offensive coordinator for two seasons. Tennessee plays its first road SEC game at Arkansas on October 10.
