India's Sree Charani has set a new all-time record in the ICC women's T20I bowling rankings, reaching 817 rating points in the latest update.

The left-arm spinner broke the previous record of 806 points held by Australia's Megan Schutt since November 2018. Charani has been ranked the world's No. 1 T20I bowler since June 23, 2026, and her latest surge cements her dominance in the format.

Her rise was powered by a stellar Women's Asia Cup, where she took 12 wickets including 4 for 20 in the final against Sri Lanka, which India won by 72 runs to lift their eighth title. She carried that form into the Asian Games, recording career-best figures of 4 for 10 against Japan and taking two wickets in the gold-medal final, which India won by 147 runs.

Across 33 T20 internationals, Charani has 62 wickets at an average of just 12.56. India's Deepti Sharma is second in the rankings with 754 points, followed by England's Sophie Ecclestone with 723. The 1-2 presence of Indian spinners at the top underlines the country's growing grip on the women's T20 game.
