Iyer Storms Into T20I Top 10 After Maiden Century

India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has surged 18 places to a career-best seventh in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings after his maiden century in the format. Iyer smashed an unbeaten 102 off 43 balls, with 10 fours and six sixes, against the West Indies in Lucknow on October 7, powering India to an eight-wicket win.
The knock took him into the top 10 for the first time, with a career-best rating of 786. India now have four batters in the T20I top 10, with Ishan Kishan first, Abhishek Sharma second and Tilak Varma tenth. In the ODI rankings, Shubman Gill retained the top spot after his unbeaten 223 against the West Indies in Guwahati, the highest score in a successful ODI chase.
Gill equalled his career-best rating of 841. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan reclaimed the No. 1 T20I bowling ranking from Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed. The rankings update underlines India’s white-ball depth, with the team holding the top two T20I batting spots. Selectors will take note as India builds toward upcoming international assignments in both formats.
