Shai Hope’s 162* powers West Indies to record ODI chase

Shai Hope’s unbeaten 162 carried West Indies to a five-wicket win over India in the third ODI, chasing down 352 with 10 balls to spare in New Chandigarh.
The 352 chase is West Indies’ highest successful run chase in ODIs. Hope, the wicketkeeper-captain, finished 162 not out off 143 balls, with 17 fours and three sixes.
Amir Jangoo made 67 and Keemo Paul added 44 as West Indies reached 352 for 5 in 48.2 overs. Hope later credited advice from MS Dhoni about staying patient in chases.
India had posted 351 for 7 after KL Rahul’s unbeaten 129 off 87 balls. Rohit Sharma scored 92 and Ruturaj Gaikwad made 57. Jayden Seales took 3 for 62.
India still won the three-match series 2-1. But their second-string bowling attack leaked runs all evening, with Anshul Kamboj conceding 82 in nine overs on debut.
The five-match T20I series begins on October 6, with the final match scheduled for October 17 in Bengaluru.
