Pakistan Drop Agha, Hand T20 Captaincy to Farhan

Pakistan have dropped Salman Ali Agha as T20 captain and left him out of the squad entirely, handing the leadership to in-form opener Sahibzada Farhan for the Sri Lanka series. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the decision on October 5, days before the T20 series begins in Rawalpindi on Friday.
Farhan earned the job after a stellar T20 World Cup, where he scored 383 runs at a strike rate of 160. The 30-year-old’s aggressive batting at the top has made him one of Pakistan’s most valuable players in the shortest format. Agha, who led the side through a difficult period, paid the price for poor results.
In other changes, Shaheen Shah Afridi will captain the ODI side, with the one-dayers starting October 18. Babar Azam returns to the ODI squad. The shake-up signals a fresh start for Pakistan’s white-ball teams as they rebuild after a disappointing World Cup campaign and look toward the next global tournaments.
