Marquez Chases First Mexico Win Against Chile

Mexico face Chile in a friendly on Tuesday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Kick-off is at 10:30 pm ET.
Coach Rafa Marquez is still looking for his first win. Mexico drew with Colombia and Peru. They then lost 3-0 to the United States on Saturday. Marquez blamed “terrible mistakes” for the defeat.
Teenage star Gilberto Mora will miss the game. The 17-year-old has returned to Club Tijuana with an ankle injury. Mora scored his first international goal in the 1-1 draw with Colombia.
Mora debuted for Mexico at 16 in January 2025. He was the youngest player at the 2026 World Cup.
Chile are also winless in the window. They lost to Canada and the United States. Chile beat Mexico 7-0 in the 2016 Copa America quarter-final, also in California.
The game will air on Univision, TUDN and ViX. For Marquez, the result is a confidence boost early in his tenure. Chile must regroup quickly after another disappointing outing.
