Man City end winless run with 2-0 win over Wolves

Manchester City ended a four-match winless run in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Wolves at the Etihad on Saturday. Omar Marmoush struck in the sixth minute for his first league goal of the season, finishing a Matheus Nunes cross. Antoine Semenyo doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time, curling home after a delicate Bernardo Silva pass for his third goal since joining from Bournemouth.
The win, City’s first in the league in 2026, closed the gap to leaders Arsenal to four points at 46. Pep Guardiola left Erling Haaland on the bench, saying the striker needed to clear his mind and body after one goal in five league games. Centre-back Marc Guehi made his debut following a 20-million-pound move from Crystal Palace as City kept a clean sheet.
Wolves remain bottom, 14 points from safety. City had lost to Manchester United and Bodo/Glimt in a difficult week before Saturday’s response.
