Lyon win 8-0 as Women’s UCL kicks off
The 2026-27 Women's Champions League began with a statement win: Lyon beat Servette 8-0 on Matchday 1.

Arsenal and Chelsea both won 1-0, against HB Koge and Austria Wien. The English clubs made solid starts to their campaigns.
There were also two draws. Bayern Munich drew 2-2 with Manchester City, and Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain.
Other results saw Inter beat Hacken 1-0 and Benfica win 2-1 at Juventus. OH Leuven and Roma played out a goalless draw. Juventus will be disappointed to lose at home.
The new league-phase format gives every team more big games. With 18 teams chasing the title, the group stage promises plenty of drama in the weeks ahead.
