Liverpool to miss Isak, Gakpo for Man City clash

Liverpool will be without Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City at Anfield. Manager Andoni Iraola confirmed the news on Friday.
Both players returned from international duty injured. Gakpo hurt his ankle playing for the Netherlands against Serbia. Isak suffered a small thigh injury with Sweden against Romania.
Isak's absence is a big blow. The striker had found form with four goals in the opening five league games. Neither injury is believed to be long term.
Their absence could open the door for 21-year-old Wales forward Lewis Koumas to lead the attack. Iraola said Koumas has the club's trust.
City top the table with a perfect record after five games. Liverpool sit sixth, six points behind, with two wins and three draws. Iraola called the coming run of fixtures a major test of his side's credentials.
The match could shape the early title race. A City win would stretch their lead at the top.
