Shipp’s career day not enough as UNC falls to Notre Dame

North Carolina wide receiver Jordan Shipp had the best game of his career on Saturday. It still was not enough against No. 3 Notre Dame.
Shipp caught seven passes for 109 yards in the 37-26 loss at Kenan Stadium. It was his first 100-yard receiving game in a UNC uniform. He caught every pass thrown his way.
The junior made two big catches on the opening drive, including a one-handed grab against projected NFL draft pick Leonard Moore. He added a 44-yard reception.
After the game, Shipp brushed off the personal milestone. “Just trusting the scheme and trusting my coaches,” he said. “But like I said, none of that stuff matters. We lost the game.”
Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr threw for four touchdowns and ran for another. Jordan Faison caught eight passes for 132 yards and two scores.
UNC quarterback Billy Edwards threw for 208 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Tar Heels fell to 2-2. They face 5-0 Pitt on the road next.
