Chourio walk-off stuns Padres as Brewers take 2-0 NLDS lead

Jackson Chourio lined a two-run single off San Diego’s Mason Miller with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Milwaukee Brewers a 4-3 walk-off win in Game 2 of the National League Division Series on October 4.
The 22-year-old faced the game’s most overpowering closer with the bases loaded. Miller had thrown fastballs of 100, 102 and 104 miles per hour for strikes before Chourio laid off a hanging slider and then drove a 101.3 mph fastball up the middle, scoring Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick.
It was the third postseason walk-off win in Brewers history. Milwaukee trailed 3-2 entering the ninth, with the Padres holding a 98 percent win probability.
Miller had struck out 12 of his first 15 batters this postseason, an MLB record. The loss leaves San Diego needing three straight wins, with Game 3 set for October 6 in San Diego.
The Brewers, who won 103 games for home-field advantage, are one win from a second straight trip to the National League Championship Series.
