India eye series lead as T20Is shift to Ranchi
India won the toss and chose to bowl first against the West Indies in the second T20I at Ranchi’s JSCA Stadium on Thursday. The match began at 7 pm IST.
India will look to build on their start in the series, with the team management expected to back its core group of players. The West Indies need a strong show to level the contest.
The Ranchi pitch is known to offer early help to spinners, which could shape both teams’ selections. Dew later in the evening was another factor behind India’s decision to chase.
The T20I series is part of a packed home season for India, who are building toward next year’s T20 World Cup. A series win in Ranchi would seal the contest with a game to spare.
India’s squad blends youth and experience as the team management tests combinations for the T20 World Cup. The West Indies, two-time world champions, remain dangerous opponents in the shortest format despite recent struggles.
