India face Uruguay in Kolkata friendly on October 6

India will face Uruguay in an international football friendly on October 6 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.

The match comes just two days after India’s 4-0 defeat to Brazil at the same venue. The Brazil game was the first senior men’s meeting between the two sides.

Uruguay will be another tough test for the Blue Tigers. The team is looking to bounce back after a difficult night against the five-time world champions.

Against Brazil, India stayed competitive in the opening stages but conceded twice before half-time. Substitute Samuel Lino scored twice in the second half to complete the 4-0 scoreline.

Coach’s focus will be on tightening the defence and creating more chances. Manvir Singh had India’s best chance against Brazil, shooting just over the bar.

The friendly is part of India’s busy October schedule. The team will want a better result in front of the Kolkata crowd against Uruguay.
