India may tour South Africa for six-ODI series, report says

India is considering a six-match ODI tour of South Africa. The Indian Express reported the plan on October 2.
The tour is not yet confirmed. Neither the BCCI nor Cricket South Africa has announced it officially.
If it goes ahead, it would be an unusually long ODI series. Most bilateral ODI series are three or five matches.
The proposed tour would give both teams valuable 50-over practice. World Cup planning is already underway.
Fans will watch for an official announcement. The calendar is crowded, so scheduling remains the key hurdle.
South Africa is a tough away venue for India in white-ball cricket. The two boards share a strong bilateral relationship. A six-match series would be rare in the modern calendar. Broadcasters would welcome the extra games. Player workload is a concern with packed schedules. An official word is awaited from both boards. The tour would also serve as preparation for future ICC events. Both teams have young squads being built up. An official announcement could come in the next few weeks.
