India’s men’s hockey team crushed Bangladesh 10-0 in their final Pool A match at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on September 28, completing a perfect group-stage run. The match at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Kakamigahara, Japan, was delayed about 30 minutes by heavy rain.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh led the rout with a hat-trick of penalty corners, while Shilanand Lakra struck twice. The other goals came from Abhishek, Jugraj Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Sanjay and Mandeep Singh, with Jugraj converting a penalty stroke.

It was India’s fifth consecutive win, sealing top spot in Pool A with 15 points and a goal difference of +45. The earlier victories came against Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan and South Korea, and the defending champions were never seriously troubled across the pool stage.

India now face arch-rivals Pakistan in the semifinal on October 1, while the other semifinal pits Malaysia against South Korea. The clash with Pakistan sets up one of the most anticipated fixtures of the tournament.
