India vs Pakistan: Asian Games cricket final on Oct 3

India will face Pakistan in the men’s cricket final of the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday, October 3, after thrashing Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semifinal at Nisshin. The gold-medal match starts at 10:00 am IST.
Shreyas Iyer-led India posted 169 for 7, powered by Ishan Kishan’s 80. Sri Lanka’s chase then collapsed to 45 all out in just 9.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah took 2 for 7, while Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma shared four wickets between them.
The semifinal also produced a piece of history: Sri Lanka’s Tharindu Ratnayake became the first bowler to take T20I wickets with both arms.
India will start as favourites against their arch-rivals after the clinical display. Pakistan’s path to the final went through their own knockout matches earlier in the week. The final promises one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries on the Asian Games stage, with gold on the line. Shreyas Iyer’s side will look to finish the tournament unbeaten and add a cricket gold to India’s growing Asian Games medal tally.
