Brisbane 2032 unveils cockatoo emblem after early leak

Brisbane 2032 has officially revealed its Olympic emblem. The design features a cockatoo. The Olympic version shows a pink cockatoo. The Paralympic version shows a sulphur-crested cockatoo.
The crest is drawn as a flame. Its shape follows the outline of Queensland. The design is inspired by the reef, beaches and hinterland.
The emblems leaked three days early. Brisbane 2032’s own YouTube channel briefly showed an explainer video on Friday. It was up for about 45 minutes. Screenshots spread on social media.
Organisers moved the official reveal to Saturday on the Gold Coast. A full launch followed on Monday. The emblems were meant to debut in Brisbane. Organisers had toured Queensland revealing the design piece by piece.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner called the emblems “a celebration of our city, our lifestyle.” He said they reflect Brisbane: vibrant, resilient, connected and playful.
The designs include First Nations elements. Cockatoos are seen as messengers carrying cultural meaning. The 2032 Games are Australia’s first Olympics since Sydney 2000.
