Women’s selectors to pick squad for historic Zimbabwe series
Guwahati, October 6: The BCCI's women's selection committee, headed by Amita Sharma, is expected to meet on Tuesday to finalise India's squad for the six-match series against Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe Women's visit will be historic. It will be the first bilateral series between the two teams on Indian soil. The tour runs for about two weeks.
The T20I leg will be played in Raipur on October 16, 18 and 20. The teams then move to Vadodara for three ODIs on October 23, 26 and 28. The ODI matches will count towards the ICC Women's Championship 2025-29.
The selection meeting follows a review of the women's team held in Guwahati on Monday. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and head coach Amol Muzumdar attended. The board said Harmanpreet looks secure as captain for now.
Selectors must balance blooding new players with fielding a strong side. The series is a key chance to test squad depth ahead of bigger assignments.
