Australia Bowl First In Women’s ODI Series Opener

Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first against Bangladesh in the first women’s ODI of the three-match series at Allan Border Field, Brisbane on Friday.
Captain Tahlia McGrath leads an Australian side fresh from a T20 World Cup triumph. Ellyse Perry said the team wanted to make a statement in the one-day game after playing little 50-over cricket recently.
Bangladesh, led by Nigar Sultana, face a tough test against the world champions. The second ODI is on October 11 and the third on October 14, all in Brisbane.
The series is part of both teams’ build-up toward the one-day World Cup, which Perry called a key target after Australia’s recent T20 success. Match details were reported as the game was still in progress.
Australia’s women are ranked among the top sides in the world, and a series win would extend their recent dominance. Bangladesh have improved steadily and will look to challenge the champions on a ground known for its pace and bounce.
