India Sweeps Compound Archery Gold At Asian Games

India’s compound archers completed a golden sweep at the Asian Games 2026, winning all three compound team titles on offer, The Brighter World reported.
The men’s team of Sahil Jadhav, Kushal Dalal and Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam produced a strong comeback to defeat China 238-237 and claim the third compound team gold of the day. The win added the third compound team gold of the day for India after the women’s and mixed team triumphs.
In the mixed team event, Chikita Thaniparthi and Sahil Jadhav held their nerve against Korea in a dramatic final. The teams were locked at 157 after four series, forcing a shoot-off, which the Indian pair won. The victory confirmed their berth for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where the mixed compound event makes its debut.
India had earlier won the women’s compound team gold, beating China 238-234 and equalling the world record. The haul pushed India to ninth position in the overall Asian Games standings. India won bronze in 2014 and silver in 2018 before defending the compound team titles in 2023 and 2026.
