Finch Backs India, Australia, South Africa, England for 2027 WC Semis

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch has predicted India, Australia, South Africa and England as his four semi-finalists for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
In a video shared by the ICC, Finch backed the 2023 finalists India and Australia alongside co-hosts South Africa and an England side led by Harry Brook. He left out Pakistan and New Zealand.
“I think the way that England are playing their cricket at the moment under Harry Brook, they’ve got a side that has the ability to play spin really well through the middle overs. They’re quite aggressive and destructive,” Finch said.
The 14th edition of the World Cup, featuring 14 teams, will be played from October 2 to November 21, 2027. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will share hosting duties.
South Africa last hosted the ODI World Cup in 2003, alongside Zimbabwe and Kenya. The semi-finals are scheduled for Cape Town and Tshwane, with the final in Johannesburg.
