Uttarakhand Voter Roll Down 8 Lakh After SIR

Uttarakhand’s final electoral roll, published on October 3 after the Special Intensive Revision, lists about 71.58 lakh voters. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office said this is nearly 8 lakh lower than the count at the start of the SIR on June 8.
The CEO’s office said the roll had 79.6 lakh voters when the revision began. The draft roll published on July 14 had about 71.33 lakh voters. During claims and objections, 1,29,872 eligible voters were added and 1,04,708 names removed.
The Congress disputes the figure. Former MLA Manoj Rawat said the state had 85.19 lakh voters before the revision, a drop of nearly 14 lakh.
The final roll has 37,37,701 male voters, 34,21,036 female voters and 212 third-gender voters. It includes 72,656 voters aged 18-19 and 1,22,892 voters above 80.
The CEO’s office said people left out of the final roll can still apply online through the ECI-Net app using Form 6, or offline through their Booth Level Officer.
