Trump to target Hochul on immigration at Syracuse rally

President Trump will hit out at New York Governor Kathy Hochul over immigration at a rally in Syracuse on Friday. The event follows a controversial ICE shooting in the Bronx.
On Thursday, ICE officers shot and wounded Oscar Belgal, a 28-year-old suspected gang member, during an arrest in Marble Hill. A five-year-old boy believed to be his son was in the SUV and was unharmed.
The shooting sparked protests. About 300 demonstrators clashed with police outside a Bronx hospital where Beltran is being treated. Hochul urged a halt to ICE operations in New York and asked for body camera footage to be released.
Hochul signed the Local Cops, Local Crimes Act in August, limiting state cooperation with ICE. Her Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman has vowed to sign an executive order mandating cooperation if elected on November 3.
Trump is expected to spotlight New York's anti-ICE policies at the rally. Immigration remains a defining issue ahead of the midterms.
