Mumbai locals face Sunday mega block on three lines

Mumbai’s suburban trains are running with major changes today as Central Railway operates a Sunday mega block for maintenance work.
On the main line, slow tracks between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Vidyavihar are shut from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm. Slow trains are diverted to the fast line, halting only at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla.
On the harbour line, services between Panvel and Vashi are blocked from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm. Trains between Panvel and CSMT are cancelled during the block. Special CSMT-Vashi trains are running for relief.
On the trans-harbour line, services between Panvel and Thane are cancelled, while Thane-Vashi and Thane-Nerul trains continue.
The Western line also has a jumbo block between Borivali and Ram Mandir from 10 am to 2 pm. Some services are cancelled and fast trains are diverted to slow lines.
Central Railway has urged commuters to check schedules before leaving home. Passengers can call helpline 139 or check the NTES portal.
The block is part of routine engineering and maintenance to keep the network safe and reliable.
