MPSC Secretary Transferred After Aspirant Protests Over Paper Leak

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) transferred its secretary on October 3, 2026, amid ongoing protests by aspirants over an alleged paper leak. The secretary, Harpalkar, saw his deputation terminated. The MPSC chairman remains in his position.
Student groups have been protesting for days. They allege that a recent examination paper was leaked. The aspirants want a full inquiry and strict action against those responsible. Political leaders have joined the demand for accountability.
Maharashtra Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal pressed for answers. He said the transfer was not enough. He demanded that the government explain why the leak happened. He also asked why the chairman was not moved.
The MPSC conducts examinations for state government jobs. Lakhs of students appear for these tests every year. A paper leak shakes trust in the entire process. The government has not yet announced a probe panel. Aspirants say they will continue their protest until the issue is resolved.
