Guilfoyle sought 100,000 dollars, offered Trump access: WSJ

Kimberly Guilfoyle asked a Trump donor to pay 100,000 dollars toward her American Express bill, the Wall Street Journal reported. She is now the US ambassador to Greece.

The texts were sent to Kentucky attorney Eric Deters before her Senate confirmation hearing. The Journal said she wanted the payment in a way that would not leave a paper trail.

Deters had promised payments of up to 1 million dollars if she helped him reach Trump officials on tax and legal issues. He told the Journal he did not make the payment.

Guilfoyle’s lawyer disputed the authenticity of the messages. The lawyer said Guilfoyle was owed money for prior event appearances. Democrats have asked for a State Department review.

Guilfoyle was confirmed as ambassador by the Senate. She is a former Fox News host and the ex-fiancee of Donald Trump Jr. The Journal reviewed hundreds of messages, emails and letters. Deters lashed out at the Trump administration after the report was published. He said he had reached out to Guilfoyle over an extradition case involving his clients.
