INDI bloc plans Rashtrapati Bhavan march over CEC row

The opposition INDIA bloc plans to march from Parliament to Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday to press for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The march caps four days of protests in Delhi.
Opposition MPs want to meet President Droupadi Murmu over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists. The leaders allege vote theft and demand Kumar’s removal. The President’s office has not yet confirmed an appointment.
On Thursday, nearly 200 opposition lawmakers held a sit-in at Rajghat after paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra led the protest. Earlier, about 300 MPs marched toward the Election Commission headquarters and many were detained.
The government has rejected the allegations. Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused the opposition of spreading confusion. Security has been tightened across the national capital for the planned march. The protests have now entered their fourth straight day in the national capital.
