CJP informs Delhi Police of Oct 10 Jantar Mantar protest

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has formally informed Delhi Police about its planned October 10 protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
CJP co-convenor Saurav Das visited the Parliament Street police station on Wednesday and submitted a written intimation about the gathering. He said the party asked police to maintain law and order and make traffic arrangements, and that an acknowledgement copy was received.
The party has listed three "non-negotiable" demands. These are Kumar's resignation along with criminal proceedings against him, a freeze on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists with restoration of the January 2025 rolls, and repeal of the 2023 law on Election Commission appointments.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke first announced the protest on October 2 after a rally at Mumbai's Shivaji Park. He said supporters from across India would march to Delhi and that the protest would be peaceful.
The Times of India reported that police had not granted permission for the protest at the time of its report. Das questioned why permission was needed at Jantar Mantar, which is a designated protest site. The ECI has rejected the allegations about voter-list revisions.
