AAP joins opposition protest over alleged ‘vote theft’ in Delhi

The Aam Aadmi Party has announced that its leaders and workers will join other opposition parties in a protest outside the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer's office over alleged vote theft.
The demonstration is part of the opposition's campaign against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Opposition parties have alleged large-scale voter deletions and demanded greater transparency from the Election Commission.
The announcement comes a day after INDIA bloc leaders, led by Rahul Gandhi, marched towards the Election Commission office on October 6 and were detained by Delhi Police. The Election Commission later said no formal meeting request was received from any party until 4 pm.
According to reports, the October 6 march included leaders from the Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), Shiv Sena (UBT), the Left and the RJD. Some parties, including the DMK, stayed away from that march.
The opposition has made "vote chori" the centrepiece of its "Save Democracy" campaign, holding demonstrations and public programmes against the poll panel across the country.
