RBI: use any account aggregator, see FDs with demat in one place

Sharing your financial data is about to get easier. The Reserve Bank of India has announced new steps for account aggregators.
Account aggregators let you share your bank and investment data with lenders digitally, with your consent. Till now, you were tied to one aggregator’s app.
The RBI will now allow interoperability among NBFC account aggregators. You can use any licensed aggregator of your choice to share data with any provider.
The central bank is also linking deposits with investments. SEBI-regulated depositories will add bank deposit details to the Consolidated Account Statement.
This means demat holders can see their shares and fixed deposits in one statement. Those without demat accounts can still get a combined view through account aggregators.
Both measures will be in place by December 31, 2026. Governor Sanjay Malhotra announced them in the bi-monthly monetary policy.
The RBI will also set up a Technical Consultative Committee for Financial Markets. It will give market players a structured forum to discuss policy and operations.
