Kerala HC Orders FIR in Exalogic Case Against CM Vijayan

The Kerala High Court has ordered a police case in the Exalogic monthly payment controversy. The order names Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena T, and his son-in-law P A Mohamed Riyas.
Justice A Badharudeen directed the FIR under the anti-corruption law. The court acted on a petition seeking a probe into payments made by Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited to Exalogic Solutions, Veena's IT firm.
The Enforcement Directorate has alleged that CMRL paid 2.78 crore rupees to Exalogic between 2017 and 2020. Another figure of 1.72 crore rupees has also been cited in court filings.
The Income Tax department had earlier flagged the payments. It said the money was given without any real services being provided.
The Chief Minister's office has denied wrongdoing. It has called the case politically motivated. The ruling CPI(M) says the order will be challenged.
The Congress and the BJP have welcomed the order. They have demanded the Chief Minister's resignation.
The case has become a major issue in Kerala politics. The next hearing will decide the course of the investigation.
