Noida Airport to Be Renamed Narendra Modi International Airport

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Friday approved a proposal to rename the Noida International Airport after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It will be called Narendra Modi International Airport, Noida-Jewar.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the decision after the cabinet meeting. He said the honour marks the Prime Minister’s 25 years of uninterrupted public service, completed on October 7.
“The Council of Ministers of Uttar Pradesh expresses its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for gifting the state the Noida International Airport at Jewar,” Adityanath said. He added that under Modi’s leadership, India had established a new identity on the global stage.
The airport, developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited under a public-private partnership with a 40-year concession, was inaugurated on March 28 this year. Commercial flight operations began on June 15.
The Uttar Pradesh cabinet also passed a resolution congratulating the Prime Minister on completing 25 years of continuous service as head of government.
