The India Meteorological Department has warned of extremely heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat on 29 September. Its press release says isolated places in Saurashtra and Kutch could get 21 cm or more of rain.

Very heavy rainfall of 12-20 cm is expected in the same region on 30 September. The IMD has listed the likely impact, including waterlogging and traffic disruption.

In Maharashtra, the department has warned of increased rainfall intensity in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada between 27 and 30 September. An urban flooding alert is in place for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.

District control rooms have been told to run round the clock. Authorities have been asked to watch river flows and keep pumps ready in low-lying areas.

In Uttarakhand, heavy rain has led to the suspension of the Char Dham Yatra. Six weather-linked deaths were reported in three Uttar Pradesh districts. The forecast shows conditions easing from 29 September.
