Delhi Trains Cancelled on Oct 10 as City Locks Down for CJP Protest

Indian Railways has cancelled mail and express trains arriving at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations between 4 am and 2 pm on Saturday, October 10, ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s protest.
Trains originating after 2 pm on October 9 and scheduled to arrive at the two stations in that window will be cancelled at source. The railways cited anticipated severe road traffic congestion around both stations.

Delhi Police have requested the metro to shut 57 stations from 9 pm on Friday, including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat and Kashmere Gate. An additional 11,000 central force personnel are being deployed, taking the total close to 26,000.
All liquor shops in Delhi will stay shut on October 9 and 10. The CJP protest is planned at Jantar Mantar on October 10, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
