India to Set Up Three Chemical Parks Under New Scheme

India will set up three major chemical parks under the Cabinet-approved Bhavya Rasayan scheme, Union Minister of State for Chemicals Anupriya Patel said on Monday.
Speaking at the launch of India Chem 2026, organised with industry body FICCI, Patel said the Centre will provide Rs 1,000 crore while each participating state will contribute at least Rs 500 crore. The total scheme outlay is Rs 3,030 crore.
The government has released the guidelines. States and industry will now send proposals, and approvals will follow swiftly, the minister said. The parks will run from 2026-27 to 2030-31.
Each park must cover at least 8 square kilometres of land and will get common infrastructure such as effluent treatment plants and hazardous waste systems. Each could attract industrial investment of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 crore.
The scheme aims to cut import dependence, boost exports and strengthen India’s chemical sector.
The scheme will remain in force for five years, and parks will be selected through a challenge-based process run with state governments.
