Arizona’s First AI Mammography Tech Arrives in Scottsdale

SimonMed has announced it will become the first imaging provider in Arizona to introduce Pristina Recon DL, GE HealthCare’s AI-powered mammography image reconstruction technology.
The software will run on GE HealthCare’s Senographe Pristina mammography system at SimonMed’s Scottsdale Mountain View location. The first patient examinations are expected in early October, timed with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Pristina Recon DL uses two deep learning models to sharpen 3D mammography images. It improves the visibility of subtle details that can matter in spotting breast cancer. The technology delivers clearer images without raising the radiation dose or changing the exam experience.
For patients, the upgrade comes at no additional cost. “Early detection saves lives,” said John Simon, founder and CEO of SimonMed. “By bringing this technology to Arizona first, we’re giving our radiologists even clearer images.”
Regular screening lowers a woman’s risk of dying from breast cancer by 26 percent. When breast cancer is caught while still localised, the five-year survival rate climbs to 99 percent, according to the company.
Why it matters: sharper imaging at the point of screening can catch cancers earlier, when they are most treatable. Making it free removes one barrier to early detection.
